Here is our homemade continent pin map. It's larger than the corner pins make it look. Those are actually very very large tacks. :)

Making a treasure map


This week we made treasure maps and had so much fun. It wasn't too hard to do here are some directions:




My 7 yr old took 4 pieces of plain white paper and sewed the ends together with embroidery thread to make a scroll type piece of paper. Then his 5 yr. old sister and him drew a map on it w/ of course a big X marking the loot. Now to make it look old, and totally awesome we took a wet tea bag and "painted" it an old yellow color. We only did the inside but it would look even better if you did both sides.







We then Baked it in the oven on 200 degrees, for a few minutes on each side until it was dry. Crinkled it sufficiently, and burned the edges carefully. That's it, the coolest treasure map we've ever had!
